Example

Search by text:

curl "https://veldora.no/v1/addresses?q=Karl%20Johans%20gate%201"
{
  "data": [
    {
      "address": "Karl Johans gate 1", "street": "Karl Johans gate", "number": 1, "letter": null, "extra_name": null,
      "postcode": "0154", "city": "OSLO",
      "municipality": { "number": "0301", "name": "OSLO" },
      "coordinates": { "lat": 59.9112, "lon": 10.7415 },
      "cadastre": { "gnr": 208, "bnr": 12, "fnr": 0, "snr": null },
      "units": 4, "type": "road", "position_verified": false, "updated": "2024-01-01"
    }
  ],
  "page": { "page": 0, "size": 10, "total": 1 },
  "meta": { "source": "kartverket", "fetched_at": "2026-10-13T08:15:00Z", "stale": false, "license": "CC-BY-4.0", "attribution": "..." }
}

Addresses within 100 metres of a point:

curl "https://veldora.no/v1/addresses/nearby?lat=59.9112&lon=10.7415&radius=100"

The response has the same shape as address search, with distance_m on every item.

Without payment these return 402 with the price. With an x402 client such as @x402/fetch the request returns the JSON, trimmed here. The values are an illustration of the shape.

Price and MCP tools

EndpointWhat it doesMCP toolPrice
GET /v1/addressesSearch addressessearch_addresses$0.005
GET /v1/addresses/nearbyAddresses near a pointaddresses_near$0.005

Per successful call, in USD, paid as USDC on Base. The MCP server is at https://veldora.no/mcp.

How payment works

Your agent sends a normal HTTP request and gets 402 Payment Required with the price. It signs a USDC authorization on Base for that amount and repeats the request, and Veldora returns the data with a receipt. There is no account or API key, and failed calls are not charged. See Pay per call and the payment section of the docs.

Questions

What is the licence of the address data?

The data is © Kartverket and licensed under CC BY 4.0. Every response carries the credit in meta.attribution; pass it on when you republish the data.

How fresh is the data?

Addresses are read live from Kartverket on each call. There is no offline mirror: if Kartverket does not answer you get 503 and are not charged.

What happens if a call fails?

You are not charged for any response with status 400 or higher. Give at least one of q, municipality or postcode, or the call is rejected with 400 before payment.

Do I need an API key or an account?

No. Your agent pays per call in USDC on Base with the x402 protocol.

Can my agent use this over MCP?

Yes. Connect to https://veldora.no/mcp and call search_addresses or addresses_near. Listing the tools is free; each call costs $0.005.
